Electronic Archiving has always been high on the agenda of the Government of Sharjah. Following the strategic directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, the Governor of Sharjah, and the Emirate’s Executive Council to develop the technical skills of government employees and leverage the latest technologies in this respect, the Sharjah Department of Culture and Information (SDCI), in cooperation with the Juma Almajid Center for Culture & Heritage, has organized a training workshop yesterday on the subject of “Electronic Archiving” for employees of SDCI and its offices in the eastern parts of the Emirate.
The workshop was sponsored by NVSSoft® and Forefront Technologies and was delivered by Eng. Ahmed Osman Ahmed, E-Archiving Expert at the Juma Almajid Center for Culture & Heritage, and member of the International Council on Archives (ICA). The workshop covered general concepts on electronic archiving, the planning required to move towards smart electronic archiving, the various technologies used in storage and retrieval, and the compliance and security of electronic archiving systems.
To support the subject matter of the training workshop, NVSSoft® presented its range of solutions for document management and electronic archiving: ArcMate Enterprise®, Tarasol®, and PractiScan®. A thirty minute demonstration on ArcMate Enterprise® was delivered by NVSSoft® UAE’s team to illustrate the practical application of the concepts of electronic archiving explained in the workshop.
Mr. Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al Owais, Director-General of the SDCI, visited the exhibition space of NVSSoft® and listened to a brief about the company and the solutions by Toufik Khouli, Sales Manager at NVSSoft® UAE.
With a growing number of implementations across the government entities of Sharjah, NVSSoft® UAE has already been considered by the Sharjah eGovernment as a preferred solution provider for Enterprise Content Management and Correspondence Management.
